A fan starts a debate online by questioning the legality of a gold medalist’s fingernails in the wake of their historic victory.

A gold medal-winning swimmer’s decision to compete with long yellow nails has sparked an internet debate.

Stunning in Paris, Ariarne Titmus, a swimming superstar from Australia, won gold in the 400-meter freestyle and the 4×200-meter freestyle relay.

Impressively, for an athlete of her young age, the 23-year-old already has four gold medals to her name in the Olympics.

On the other hand, a Reddit user took notice of her accomplishments and started talking about how her vibrant nail polish may offer her a “unfair advantage.”

The permissibility of such fingernails baffles me. The watcher saw how closely the races had been, and they blogged about it.

It should be noted that there are no limitations on the color of contestants’ nails imposed by the Olympic standards.

As someone who has experience as both a swimmer and a nail enthusiast, I can tell you that they aren’t really that long. The color makes her deep-set nails appear much longer, however.

“Unless they were another 2 millimeters thicker at minimum, she’s still gotta touch the pad with her fingers for it to trigger.” “It has no bearing on the time,” a second individual said. Electronic timers adorn the walls.

“Really, it wouldn’t increase swimming speed anyways because proper swimming technique doesn’t use cupped fingers anyways,” a third person stated. Keep your finger flat and slightly spread out.

It seems like the nails wouldn’t matter much, but I must admit that my knowledge of swimming is limited, so I can’t say for sure.

One of my best comments, however, was this one: “While she gets more grab with the nails she handicapped it with yellow: everyone knows red is the fastest color.”

Now let’s get down to business: in the women’s 400m final, Titmus stunned world record holder Katie Ledecky with a spectacular performance, according to Reuters.

Ledecky, who finished second by 0.67 seconds, said, “It was definitely a tough race and I delivered.” And she meant it. That is the best I could manage. I had an amazing time at the event.

“I won’t let myself get too let down. My second-best swim of all time, in terms of distance. All anybody can ask for is that you fought like hell.

It is the pinnacle of athletic achievement, so naturally I am ecstatic,” Titmus stated after her triumph.

I must admit that I was a little anxious about the 200-meter dash, but I was well-prepared for the Olympics.

I had to have faith in myself and try to maintain my composure. Put my speed to good use. And she’s up against a lady with an incredible racial background. So pleased with myself.

The most I can do is keep it in check. After I finish my ambitious schedule, I will be able to relax and appreciate this. The secret is long nails. Might not be the case, however. I really am utterly confused.
