According to court documents, a nursing facility is facing a lawsuit from the family of a lady whose whereabouts were uncertain after she was placed in a body bag for two hours.
A nurse at Long Island’s Water’s Edge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center pronounced Janet Balducci dead in February 2023, according to a complaint filed in Suffolk County Supreme Court.
Even though Baldcucci was embalmed and put in a corpse bag, she miraculously hadn’t died. On his way to the Casimir Funeral Home in Miller Place, New York, the 82-year-old encountered an odd event.
According to family lawyer Peter DeNoto, who spoke to The New York Post, an employee found Balducci “still breathing and had a pulse”
when they unzipped the bag. “She made it through another day, but she passed away,” DeNoto informed the news source.
The sons of the old lady, Robert and Joseph Balducci, have filed wrongful death and negligence lawsuits against the funeral company and the nursing facility.
