Khelif and another boxer, Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan who competed under the alias “Chinese Taipei,” were both disqualified by the International Boxing Association (IBA) for having an XY chromosome.

Be that as it may, five years ago the International Basketball Association had all of its Olympic qualifications revoked.

After making it to the semi-finals of the summer Olympics—which are being contested in France for the first time in a century—both competitors assured themselves of a medal despite the intense global scrutiny.
