Blue State Is Ready To Clear Hundreds Of Acres Of Forest To Make Way For Solar Panels: “Not Incredibly Popular”

According to a report by MLive on Thursday, Michigan is about to clear hundreds of acres of woodland to create room for a solar panel complex.

In order to make room for a solar farm, generate income, and further the state’s long-term green energy goals,

The state will shortly begin competitive bidding on around 420 acres of wooded property close to Gaylord, Michigan, according to MLive.

According to a Washington Post research, Michigan is among the least sunny places in the nation, and there is some evidence that such a shift would actually raise emissions.

The head of the public lands office for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Scott Whitcomb, told MLive that it is “not incredibly popular with everyone.”

“I’ll be honest about that.” (LINK: Whitmer Signs Enormous Green Energy Mandate Into Law, “Taking Away Local Control”).
