The beloved public figure and legendary country music star Dolly Parton has announced her retirement from lengthy tour engagements.
She plans to sometimes take the stage for a few occasions, including weekend concerts or appearances at festivals, even if she won’t be doing lengthy tours any longer.
Parton has had a remarkable career in the music business, having risen to fame from modest beginnings in the Appalachian Mountains.
She will still write music and prioritize spending time with her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, even if she has decided to stop touring.
In 1964, Dolly Parton and Dean Dean met in front of a Nashville, Tennessee, laundry. It was an immediate love connection for Dean. Dean recalled their fateful meeting with affection, saying,
“I thought, ‘I’m going to marry that girl,’ when I first saw her.” The first thing that sprang to mind was, “Wow, she’s really gorgeous.” My life officially began on that day.
