Following a game, baseball bats were used to savagely assault a UK football team; one player reportedly had “life-changing injuries.”
The horrific tragedy happened on Saturday afternoon, October 12, during a local Division 1 Cardiff & District League game between Avenue Hotspur FC and Llanrumney Athletic at Eastern Leisure Centre in Llanrumney, Cardiff.
Avenue Hotspur FC recently suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the local team. The Mirror said that three red and two yellow cards were sent out after the final whistle.
It’s unclear exactly what happened inside the stadium, but it’s known that after leaving the changing rooms, the Avenue Hotspur FC players were assaulted and set upon with a variety of weapons.
Since then, the group has taken to social media to vehemently denounce the assault and describe it as “extremely distressing and frightening” for all those who were a part of it.
