While Americans are still recuperating from the recent deadly hurricanes, President Joe Biden received criticism from a number of Republican senators for allocating $1 billion for humanitarian help to Africa.
Republican senators, who firmly believe that the federal government should be spending to help Americans like those in North Carolina and Florida whose lives were upended by Hurricanes Milton and Helene this autumn.
Were incensed when Biden announced Tuesday, while on a trip to Angola, that the United States will be sending $1 billion to Africa to fund humanitarian initiatives helping Africans displaced by droughts and food insecurity.
“Under the Biden administration, America remains at the bottom of the global rankings. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, a Republican from Alabama, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“The American people are tired of having their tax dollars sent overseas when we have disasters to clean up at home.”
