In a massive push for clemency, Biden commutes the sentences of crack dealers, cartel leaders, and “notorious” fraudsters.

According to court documents, President Joe Biden granted mercy to roughly 1,500 people on Thursday, including drug traffickers, crack dealers, cartel leaders, and fraudsters.

Biden said on Thursday that he will commute the sentences of those “who were placed on home confinement during.

The COVID-19 pandemic and who have successfully reintegrated into their families and communities” as part of his historic mercy decision.

A number of well-known offenders are on the White House’s list of commutations. According to court documents, one person, Francesk Shkambi, was first given.

A 27-year jail term in July 2014 for organizing a criminal organization that “smuggled cocaine and marijuana into the United States from Albania.”

According to the documents, “Shkambi also negotiated with a foreign source to traffic cocaine from Mexico to Europe.”
