An engine problem and subsequent fire forced the evacuation of a United Airlines aircraft that was leaving Houston on its way to New York.
A reported engine problem at around 8:35 AM on Sunday caused the crew of the Airbus A319 to safely abort takeoff from George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration informs TMZ.
Using a mix of steps and slides, the 104 passengers and 5 crew members disembarked on the runway before being transported by bus to the terminal.
United Airlines tells TMZ: “During takeoff, United flight 1382 received an indication about one engine and halted the takeoff while still on the runway.” They said that no injuries had been recorded.
