LA Wildfire Cleanup Is Being Delayed by Burning EV Batteries

In the Los Angeles region alone, there were more over 431,000 Teslas as of October 2024. The battle against wildfires.

In Los Angeles has become more difficult due to the large number of EVs equipped with lithium-ion batteries.

Even while electric cars may significantly improve our air quality and aid in the continuing fight against climate change, they do have one annoying issue that we haven’t been able to resolve.

When the batteries ignite, they turn into a fierce fire that is almost hard to extinguish. An unfortunate example of this was an automobile collision involving Tesla back in 2018.

Everyone inside the automobile perished when the vehicle crashed and caught fire. Responders used over 300 gallons of foam and water to put out the fire.

Responders were packing the Tesla for removal after everyone believed the fire had been put out when the battery rekindled on its own.
