In response to questioning from reporters after President Donald Trump suggested that diversity, equality, and inclusion could have contributed to the tragedy,
Jennifer Homendy, the chair of the National Transportation Safety Board, said that the board would investigate the impact of human factors.
“We examine the human, the machine, and the environment as part of any investigation,” Homendy said. Therefore, we will examine every person who was a part of this disaster.
Homendy claimed to have been present at a briefing with the president on the NTSB’s inquiry. In response to a question about the president’s remarks on possible causes of the disaster,
Homendy said that the NTSB often deals with conjecture and that the board requires time to collect evidence, analyze data, and establish a probable cause.
“We approach things very carefully,” Homendy said. “It will take some time for us to examine the facts of our investigation.” Jennifer Homendy, head of the independent.
