Ali MacGraw was born Elizabeth Alice MacGraw on April 1, 1939, in Pound Ridge, New York. She is an American actress, model, novelist, and campaigner for animal rights.
The roles in “Love Story” and “The Getaway” have brought MacGraw the greatest fame, but her career and personal life have not been without their hurdles.
She was born into an artistic family; MacGraw’s parents were both well-known painters. She started her work in the fashion industry after earning a degree in art history from Wellesley College.
She was an employee of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, among others. Talented and charismatic, MacGraw shot to fame in a variety of industries, including modeling and acting.
Although her film debut was in 1968’s “A Lovely Way to Die,” her performance in 1969’s “Goodbye, Columbus” was the one that earned her the Golden Globe. Her 1970 debut,
