After receiving a penalty notice for pulling her daughter out of school for a vacation during term time, a mother is now worried about the future of her profession.
In May of this year, Natalie Saunders had a weeklong vacation with her eight-year-old daughter to Bodrum, Turkey.
She probably won’t do it again, however, given that she is aware of the consequences of keeping her kid home from school for this long during the academic year.
The single mother acknowledged that she was aware that the trip would lead to an unapproved absence and a £60 fine, but she was unaware that it would turn into something far more serious.
When the 44-year-old got back from the £900 holiday in the sun, she claimed she never got a penalty charge letter in the mail and that she was safe.
