Scholarships were not revoked by the University of Texas for kneeling during the playing of the national anthem.

The assertion: Students who kneeled during the playing of the national anthem had their scholarships revoked by the University of Texas.

Two distinct photos showing female basketball players kneeling on a court and cheerleaders kneeling close to a crowd may be seen in a Facebook post from August 29 (direct link, archive link).

The caption of the photo says, “KNEELING: All students who knelt during the national anthem after the University of Texas were rounded up and REMOVED FROM SCHOLARSHIPS.”

In only six days, it was shared over 300 times. On Facebook, a similar post received a lot of shares.

The assertion is untrue, a University of Texas spokeswoman told Reuters. The post’s two pictures feature athletes from different schools.
