The possibility of an assault at three of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour events in Austria has led to the cancellation of those performances.
The Guardian reports that a 19-year-old guy was arrested by Austrian officials on suspicion of plotting an Islamist assault in the Vienna area in relation to American music diva Taylor Swift’s forthcoming performances.
A suspect who had just declared loyalty to the Islamic State (IS) organization was apprehended early Wednesday in Lower Austria, about one hour outside of Vienna, according to Franz Ruf, Austria’s leading security official.
Ruf told the press that the 19-year-old offender is intent on targeting the Taylor Swift performances in Vienna, and that they have found comparable preparation activities.
