High school wrestling is mostly an afterthought in the majority of states. But not in Pennsylvania, the nation’s top wrestling state.
Which is mostly due to two regions: the Lehigh Valley, north of Philadelphia, and the area outside of Pittsburgh.
Nazareth and Easton have one of the most illustrious rivalries in the history of the sport, and the latter is a hotbed of high school wrestling.
Only six miles separate the two institutions, which have produced several sports stars. In their 98 meetings, Easton has a 60-34-4 series advantage.
However, since 2024, the Rovers have only had one. Kurtis Crossman defeated Vincent Giacobbe of Nazareth.
By a technical fall score of 19–4 at 215 pounds on Wednesday night, seemingly earning them their second victory in that time span. However, things took a turn for the worst at that point.
