After a deep-fried rat was found in the kitchen by hygienic inspectors, a kebab establishment was forced to close.
The Mexicano Food Box in Preston, Lancs, where the crispy rodent was discovered, voluntarily closed after the inspection.
In September, the council’s food hygiene officer took ominous pictures of the dirty kitchen area, which was infested by cockroaches.
The slideshow of horrors also showed a rat that looked like it had been deep-fried in lard and how the kitchen equipment were covered in grime.
The eatery received the lowest possible hygiene rating of zero and was advised that “urgent improvement” is required.
