In addition to her recent enthusiasm for running, Hawkins enjoys tending to her garden and spending time with her extended family.
Murray Hawkins, to whom she was wed for 70 years until his death a number of years ago, was someone else she cherished spending time with. I was from the little hamlet of Ponchatoula, and he was from New Orleans.
