Following a brief exchange, one of the suspects displayed a firearm in an apparent attempt to intimidate and carry out a robbery. However, their plan quickly unraveled.
As the weapon was drawn, the women fled, but the man in the group, dressed in a blue tank top and holding a beige shopping bag, immediately responded, turning the tables on the suspects.
“Words were apparently exchanged, and the victim ultimately produced a legally possessed firearm, seemingly to protect himself and others in the group from the suspected robbers,”
the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a press release. “The individual discharged his firearm in the direction of the suspects, prompting everyone involved to flee the scene.”
Refusing to become a victim, the man defended himself and his companions by firing several shots. After firing, he dropped his shopping bag and ran in the opposite direction.
