Fifty Cent has said, more than two years after his Super Bowl halftime performance, that Eminem’s refusal to perform without him was the only reason he took the stage that night.
At Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium, the artist sang some of his greatest hits, which was an unexpected addition to the event.
In a halftime performance that will surely be remembered for a long time, 50 Cent was joined by Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem.
Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment firm, allegedly attempted to exclude the 49-year-old from the concert.
“They intended for me to be excluded. The musician said to the Hollywood Reporter that they were against her being there. At a question about who “they” were referring to, 50 Cent acknowledged that it was Rock Nation.
“Yeah, they didn’t want me there,” he said, and the rapper went on to say that he was included because it was Eminem’s doing.
“Eminem wouldn’t do it without me,” 50 Cent stated. Since he was not going to come up until I did it, that is how I got my big break.

Fifty Cent hung upside down like a bat during the unforgettable Super Bowl performance, referencing the music video for his beloved 2003 club song “In Da Club.”
