Tragically, a veteran from Texas passed away after a thief’s vicious assault. During a violent carjacking outside a retirement community in Houston over the weekend,
Nelson Beckett, 90, was shot and later ran over by his own vehicle. Around lunchtime on Saturday, the veteran was alone in
the southwest parking lot of the Lone Star care assisted care facility when an unidentified suspect arrived and began hitting him, according to Houston authorities.
Following his shooting of Beckett, he stole his car and left the scene, driving over the 90-year-old in the process.

The gunshot apparently occurred during the dispute, and someone in the neighborhood told KHOU 11 about the terrifying event.
