The Son of Chester Bennington Fans of Linkin Park are threatening to kill me!!!

Jaime, the son of Chester Bennington, claims that he has received death threats from Linkin Park supporters as a result of his criticism of the band’s contentious lead vocalist, Emily Armstrong.

In a video posted on Instagram on Monday, Jaime said that he has been receiving hate mail from strangers,

some of which have included suicide advice and inquiries about his comprehension of what his father would want if Chester were still living. Jaime called out the hypocrisy in their words,

claiming that if they really knew how his father passed away, they would see how inappropriate and incorrect their trolling remarks are. In 2017, Chester took his own life.

Jaime also said he didn’t feel secure attending Linkin Park’s first return event, which is scheduled for this Wednesday.

He expressed concern about buying two general admission tickets for $500 since he doesn’t know who would recognize him and respond violently. He said in a subsequent Instagram

Story that he is attending the performance because he is in mourning and wants some closure after the loss of his father seven years ago, but he is not backing down.

As we previously reported, Jaime was quite vocal on Instagram, criticizing Mike Shinoda, the co-founder of LP,

for disrespecting fans by appointing Emily as the new lead singer—especially in the midst of International Suicide Prevention Month. Jaime spoke about Emily’s purported membership

in Scientology and her endorsement of Danny Masterson. This whole situation arose from communications that The Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala uncovered,

revealing that Emily had attended a preliminary hearing in 2020 to defend Masterson. Since Chester had spoken candidly about overcoming sexual abuse, this really hurt the fans.
