The family of former Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones confirmed his passing on Sunday. Jones was 40 years old and had a significant impact in Baltimore’s triumph in Super Bowl XLVII.
The NFL, the Houston Texans, and the Ravens all verified the report. The NFLPA received a letter from his family stating that he
“passed away peacefully at his home in New Orleans,” albeit the cause of death has not been made public.
In the wake of the Baltimore Sun’s first revelation, condolences to the former NFL player—who rose to more prominence on Dancing with the Stars—have been expressed.
The Ravens released a statement saying, “We are completely heartbroken to learn about the passing of Jacoby Jones.”
