Although Dolly Parton concealed her physical condition, it is now recognized

Dolly Parton realized at a young age that music was her calling. At the age of ten, she began her career in show business. Three years later, she made her Grand Ole Opry debut,

earning $20 a week. Since the majority of her mother’s side of the family was rather musical and played instruments, music has always been an integral part of her life.

Her uncle Lewis gave her his beloved tiny Martin guitar, which further stoked her passion of music. Parton relocated to Nashville shortly after high school and became well-known there.

She has written more than 3,000 songs,  sold over 100 million records, been at the top of the country charts 25 times, and received eight Grammy Awards.

Parton claims that she and her longtime partner Carl Dean decided not to have children together, even though they sometimes speculate about.
