Days after going missing, “Top Chef” star Naomi Pomeroy, 49, was discovered dead in a river.

Beloved Portland chef Naomi Pomeroy, known for her culinary talent and vibrant personality, tragically lost her life in a tubing accident. Her body was discovered on July 17,

several days after she went missing. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the devastating news that Naomi had drowned.

The accident occurred when Naomi, her husband Kyle Linden Webster, and a close friend were on the Willamette River, enjoying a day on tubes and a paddleboard.

Their joy turned to horror when they became caught in an “exposed snag” in the water. Naomi, tangled by her paddleboard leash, was tragically pulled under and couldn’t free herself.

While her husband and their friend were rescued at the shore, Naomi’s body wasn’t immediately found. A search effort ended in heartbreak when her body was recovered about half a mile upstream of Hyak Park.

The Portland community is mourning not only the loss of an extraordinary chef but also a kind, passionate soul who made a lasting impact on everyone she met.
