Derek was desperate to find his daughter Amber, who had disappeared a week earlier. She seems to have vanished despite the police’s best attempts.
Derek couldn’t sleep because his anxiousness was so bad. There were no new leads to report, but the officer said,
“As soon as we know something, we will inform you immediately,” while they were at the police station.
A homeless lady carrying Amber’s bag was seen by Derek on his way home. He walked up to her and said,
