Due to auto flaws, Elon Musk’s Tesla is facing a class action lawsuit in Australia.

Disgruntled Tesla owners in Australia have filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk’s automaker in the Federal Court, alleging that the business overpromised the capabilities of its cars and delivered automobiles with serious flaws.

The sales of Model 3 and Y vehicles made by US-based Tesla Inc. are the focus of the consumer action brought against Tesla Motors Australia by the Australian company JGA Saddler.

Despite the influx of Chinese companies into the EV industry, each of those models accounted for over 40% of Australian EV sales in 2024.

Three claimed issues with the Model 3 and Y cars—”phantom braking,” short battery life, and no autonomous driving—will be the focus of the class action lawsuit.
