A young guy discovers the truth when a dog visits a shuttered business every day.

Koda, a beautiful Shiba Inu dog, was anything but normal. She would not quit gazing at the windows of the shuttered bike shop adjacent to the warehouse where I worked.

I thought this dog’s behavior seemed a little odd for some reason. I kept trying to get close to Koda, but he would always flee.

Since I saw him every day and thought he required a name, I began calling him Koda even though I didn’t know his real name. His collar caught my attention, and his fur was consistently neat,

Indicating that he had an owner. Most importantly, he refused to eat the meal I offered him. Rather, he would smell it, put it in his mouth, and flee.

I asked around, curious. Some of the adjacent employees claimed to have seen the dog as well, presuming it belonged to Morgan’s Bikes, the owner of the now-closed bike company.
