Miller Gardner, the 14-year-old son of legendary Charleston baseball player Brett Gardner, passes away

WCIV, Charleston, S.C. — The death of their 14-year-old son was confirmed on Sunday by Charleston baseball legend Brett Gardner and his wife, Jessica.

According to a statement released by the New York Yankees, Miller Gardner passed away quietly in his sleep after becoming unwell while on vacation with a number of other family members.

“We have so many questions and so few answers at this point, but we do know that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st,” the couple said in a letter.

They went on: The Gardners stated their religion, family, and friends would help them deal with their “unimaginable” loss, and they appreciated everyone.
