Because the number was unknown, the hiker who was lost for twenty-four hours ignored the rescuers’ calls.

Rescuers’ calls were rejected by a hiker who had been stranded for 24 hours since they came from an unidentified number. When we don’t know who is calling, many of us dislike answering the phone.

One traveler, however, took their fear of taking calls from unknown numbers a little too far. The hiker, whose identity has not been made public, became stuck on Mount Elbert in Colorado.

Officials from Lake County Search and Rescue (LCSR) issued a statement detailing their attempts to find the unidentified backpacker.

The alarm was sounded that evening after the guy failed to come home after starting his excursion at 9 a.m.

The fact that he was not picking up his phone made his absence more troubling. Rescuers were very worried about the hiker’s fate after he was reported missing around 8 p.m.
