Police say a man was detained after he reportedly threatened to “butcher” churchgoers at a Catholic worship in Memphis.
Zachary Liberto, 30, was taken into custody after a verbal dispute with the priest over defacing the church’s baptismal pool, the Memphis Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital.
Officers were called to St. Louis Catholic Church on Friday after hearing a complaint about threats made by Liberto from the church’s music director and pastor.
According to officials, Liberto threatened to kill a large number of churchgoers in an email. The Catholic Church was dubbed.
