Following the chase on the A1, which resulted in a startling collision, the police have released an update.
Following a major collision in Newcastle involving five police cars pursuing a BMW, the A1 was closed for over twelve hours.
According to Northumbria Police, an authorized chase preceded the collision.
Seven officers who had non-life-threatening injuries were transported to the hospital. According to Metro, one officer was released today, while two of them are still in the hospital.
The BMW’s two occupants were unharmed.
