At least ten human remains were discovered in an unair-conditioned funeral home in southwest Houston, according to Houston police, who confirmed that an investigation is underway.
At approximately 11:55 a.m., police were called to Richardson Mortuary on Brookfield Drive after a funeral home employee stabbed a customer who had started filming bodies.
The customer’s sister told Eyewitness News that she and her brother had visited the funeral home because they were worried about the location of their mother’s and uncle’s remains.
“I opened up the casket, and she had gnats in her face,” Tamara McGruder said.
In videos McGruder captured, some bodies are laying on tables and others are wrapped in plastic or inside caskets.
“It’s bodies in caskets, crates, plastic bags. Its no A/C, its gnats. “It has a rotten blood odor,” she said.
