‘Mommy, please no’ was the terrible last cry of a young California girl before her mother drowned her in the bathtub, and she was discovered dead in her apartment.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office determined that 7-year-old Rebecca Castellanos died from asphyxiation from drowning and neck compression after she was discovered dead in a bathtub on Friday night.
According to NBC 4.
Her mother, 37-year-old Graciela Castellanos, was named as the main suspect and detained after being released on $2 million bail.
“She did what she did because of passive bipolar disorder and the depression that came with possibly not being able to become a legal resident.”
Rebecca’s stepfather and Graciela’s fiancé, who asked not to be named, told NBC 4. “When she attacked the girl, I’m sure she was insane.”
