Don’t worry if you’ve ever been excited about the possibility of surviving a nuclear war; almost half of us wouldn’t make it that far anyway. Annie Jacobsen, an author and investigative journalist.
Who has devoted her professional life to educating the public about “war, weapons, national security, and government secrets,” says as much.
The Pentagon’s Brain: An Uncensored History of DARPA, America’s Top Secret Military Research Agency, one of her books on these subjects, was a nominee for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize.
Her paper was referred to be a “brilliantly researched account” by the Columbia University committee that bestows the yearly honors, demonstrating the significance of Jacobsen’s statements.
She released another book last year called Nuclear War: A Scenario, which, as you may have guessed, explores a fictitious chronology of what would occur in the case of a nuclear conflict.
Its premise is that North Korea would attack the United States with a surprise nuclear strike to start a full-scale war before the rest of the world is swiftly drawn into a catastrophic global struggle.
