Following the shooting death of a man by police, portions of Toronto Pearson International Airport had to be closed.
A ‘police-involved gunfire’ on Tuesday morning forced the closure of Terminal 1 departures at the main airport.
After responding to a “man in distress” in an SUV at the airport just before 7am, police have subsequently verified that a man in his 30s was shot and died.
According to officials, a group of individuals got into a fight outside the departure terminal, and police were summoned to handle the situation. Officers opened fire when one of the males involved took.
Out a gun after they arrived on the scene. The individual, who has not yet been recognized, was shot by two cops. The policemen were unharmed in the encounter, according to officials.
