WFXT (LOWELL, MA) – A 4-year-old child who was fishing with his mother in Massachusetts tripped and fell into the Merrimack River is being sought.
On Sunday night, Joan Lopez Contreras and his family waited on the Merrimack River in Andover for any hope. About nine miles downstream from the last sighting of his 4-year-old son, Azriel Lopez-Fontanez, on Saturday.
It’s impossible to explain his feelings. Through a buddy who provided interpretation, Andrickson Melendez, Contreras said, “Very bad.”
According to the father, Azriel spent Saturday evening fishing by the Western Canal in Lowell with his mother and brothers.
Around 5:45 p.m., the young youngster slipped and fell into the river. It is thought that the current swiftly swept him away.
