The corpse of the deceased journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna was brought home without her internal organs, according to a joint media report on her passing.
Viktoriia was sent to the seized city of Berdiansk to report on the fighting, but she vanished soon after the conflict between Russia and Ukraine began in February 2022.
She worked for a Ukrainian broadcaster who claimed that Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) had seized her.
“Our journalist Victoria Roshchyna is being held captive by the Russian occupiers,” the news organization said on social media at the time.
Since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, she has been reporting from hotspots in both Eastern and Southern Ukraine.
