While having a fast dinner at McDonald’s, I heard a mother conversing with her little daughter.

One evening when I went to McDonald’s for a fast supper, I couldn’t help but hear a woman and her small daughter conversing quietly.

At the adjacent table. Softly, the little girl said, “Please let us eat here.” They sat down after ordering a single hamburger.

The mother fetched a thermos from home and carefully poured what seemed to be tea. They had just left the hospital, as far as I could tell.

Since it was her daughter’s first time at McDonald’s, the mother had carefully saved just enough money for the bus journey home and used what little was left for that one burger.

I went to the counter after finishing my coffee and purchased a Happy Meal. Before they could say anything, I quietly put it on their table and left.
