In Greece, a woman lost her life when the device she was holding detonated in her hands.
A 38-year-old woman was killed by her own bomb, which she reportedly attempted to place on a cash machine outside a bank, in the Greek city of Thessaloniki at around five in the morning today, May 3.
The explosion that killed the woman damaged several vehicles and structures, and police stated they knew her from her involvement in multiple crimes.
Regarding the unexpected explosion, a police official told Reuters, “It seems that she was carrying an explosive device and planned to plant it a bank’s ATM.”
“Something went wrong and it exploded in her hands.” The deceased woman’s potential connections to extremist organizations are being looked into.
