A six-year-old girl’s mother was found guilty of selling her for her “eyes and skin” after she vanished last year.

Convicted of abduction and trafficking, the mother of a six-year-old girl who vanished last year sold her for her “eyes and skin.”

According to Reuters, Kelly Smith was convicted on Friday, May 2, of human trafficking and abduction after her daughter, Joshlin Smith,

Disappeared from their Saldanha Bay home in February 2024. On the same counts, her friend Steveno van Rhyn and lover Jacquen Appollis were also found guilty.

Smith was found guilty amidst heartbreaking evidence and shocking claims that she had planned the abduction of her own kid in order to get money.

Smith sobbed as her guilty conviction was read out loud, according to BBC News, as courtroom onlookers cheered the ruling.
