Kelsey Grammer has spoken up about his sister’s horrific death fifty years ago. In his latest book, the 70-year-old discusses the terrible loss of his sister, Karen, and how her passing affected his family for a long time.
When authorities informed his family in Florida that a body had been discovered in Colorado Springs that they thought was that of Grammer’s 18-year-old sister, the Frasier star was just 20 years old.
The following day, Grammer and his family took a plane to Colorado, where they verified that the Jane Doe was actually Karen.
They then found out that, on July 1, two weeks prior to her 19th birthday, she had been viciously raped and stabbed forty-two times.
Freddie Glenn and his associates, who had been on a murderous rampage throughout the state in 1975, were eventually found to have killed her.
Grammer discusses the horrific circumstances of his sister’s last moments and the impact it has had on his life over the past fifty years in his book Karen: A Brother Remembers.
