35 to 60 years in prison for the teen who killed her newborn child

All around the country — After entering a no contest plea to second-degree murder in connection with the 2023 death of her newborn baby, Chloe Coplen-Anderson, an 18-year-old from Sheridan County, Nebraska,

was given a sentence ranging from 35 to 60 years in prison. Unsettling information about a violent crime, family violence, and a concealed pregnancy

was made public by the case. Judge Travis O’Gorman imposed the punishment on Coplen-Anderson when he appeared in Sheridan

County District Court on April 24. According to People, she might be released in her early 50s when more than 500 days of time served are credited.

On November 6, 2023, Coplen-Anderson gave birth by herself in her bedroom, according to court records. She fatally stabbed the baby with a kitchen knife shortly after. Her father initially thought the

Baby was stillborn. Her mother, however, pointed to obvious stab marks and informed authorities that her daughter had “hurt him.”The bloodied knife was later discovered by police concealed in her closet.
