57-year-old murder suspect on luxury cruise ship freed on bail after ‘fight broke out on board’

A 57-year-old man was freed on bond after being detained on suspicion of murder on a high-end cruise liner.

Following the death of a 60-year-old West Sussex man aboard the MSC Virtuosa on Saturday, May 3, Hampshire Constabulary opened a murder investigation.

The deceased was believed to have been a member of a shipboard stag party. Specialized police personnel have been notified and are assisting his nearest of kin.

On Monday, the ship returned to Southampton, Hampshire from Belgium, and the suspect was taken into custody.

According to authorities, the unnamed individual has already been freed on bond.
