In South Africa, a furious mother discovered her crippled daughter undressed at the rapist’s home and, with the aid of an enraged mob, beat him to death.
After shopping in Cacadu, Eastern Province, last month, the 44-year-old, known as the “warrior woman” in her village, returned home to discover her 20-year-old daughter gone.
She was last spotted strolling to a 65-year-old local man’s house, according to her neighbors, and when she stormed in, she discovered the two of them undressed on the bed.
A vengeful mob that had pursued the woman—who will remain anonymous to preserve the victim’s identity—also entered the suspect’s tiny holding area and observed the action.
After a public outcry, the mother was released from custody after being detained and charged with murder.
“The woman caught the man and her daughter getting dressed and asked her what had just been happening,” said Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, spokesman for the South African Police.
