For sex crimes involving little boys, a former award-winning California educator has been told she will serve the next 30 years in prison.
Former ‘Teacher of the Year’ Jacqueline Ma, 36, of San Diego’s Lincoln Acres Elementary School, entered a guilty plea in February.
To the charges of sexually abusing two of her sixth-grade students, both of whom were younger than 14.
She further acknowledged having material showing a minor engaging in or mimicking sexual activity, as well as committing a vulgar act involving the second child.
Ma was given a 30-year to life term in state prison on Friday for sex offenses involving the two children, who were 11 and 12 years old at the time.
