When questioned about the unthinkable act, an Arkansas father who shot and killed his 6-year-old daughter while putting her to bed said, “I don’t know what happened.”
On May 29, 2023, Jordan Chadick, 45, put his daughter Caroline to sleep in his Hot Springs apartment when he shot her in the head with a single bullet.
Earlier this month, he entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder and received a 30-year jail sentence.
The catastrophe came after Jordan and Melissa, his separated wife and the mother of their two children, had argued and Melissa had requested him to leave her house.
Jordan eventually went with Caroline, despite his initial resistance. The Garland County Sheriff’s Office was called to his apartment later that night after a shooting.
When police came, they saw Jordan drenched in blood and Melissa clutching Caroline’s “lifeless” body that was “covered in blood,” according to Law & Crime.
