Over the years, Marina Abramović, the queen of performance art and a pioneer in the area, has caused quite a stir with her shows.
And her rendition of the ‘Seedbed’ performance by artist Vito Acconci was by no means an exception.
In 1972, Acconci performed at the Sonnabend Gallery in New York City, where he masturbated for eight hours every day for nine days in a row.
Abramović gave her own rendition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 2005.The artist later revealed her primary “problem” with the entire event, stating that it was “really not” a “easy” achievement.
However, Abramović ended up having nine orgasms during the performance.She also admitted to New York Art that having orgasms “publicly” wasn’t “easy.”
