Hours before his senior prom, a teen who was apparently playing “ding dong ditch” with buddies was shot and killed.

Virginia’s Spotsylvania County (TCN) — During an alleged burglary, a 27-year-old man was arrested this week on suspicion of killing an 18-year-old and wounding a minor.

Deputies from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence on Mackenzie Lane on May 3 at 3 a.m. for a burglary that was taking place with gunshots.

Deputies discovered three individuals, two of whom had been shot. One of the victims, Michael Bosworth Jr., was taken by paramedics to the hospital, where his injuries caused his death.

The second shooter was freed after suffering just minor wounds. Tyler Chase Butler was taken into custody by deputies three days later.

On suspicion of two counts of using a firearm in the conduct of a crime, second-degree murder, and malicious injury. According to WJLA-TV, Butler fired rounds because he thought.

The teenagers were kicking the rear door to get into his house. But according to reports, Bosworth’s pals admitted to cops that they were playing “ding dong ditch” and filming it on TikTok.

They claim that as they were fleeing, Butler opened fire. Bosworth participated in football and lacrosse as a senior at Massaponax High School.

WRC-TV reports that Bosworth passed away on the day of his high school prom. According to the sheriff’s office, Butler is being held without bail.
