In his first social media messages, Pope Leo VIX urged international leaders to refrain from starting wars.
Days after sending a one-word greeting to America, the pope, Robert Prevost, 69, of Chicago, posted a number of uplifting messages to his X account on Wednesday, urging faith and peace.
“May you all live in peace!” This is the first greeting spoken by the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd,’ his first tweet read.
“This message of peace should resonate in your hearts, in your families, and among all people, wherever they may be, in every country, and all across the world.” An hour later, he followed up on.
That remark with an homage to the last pope to take the papal name Leo. Some have questioned if he chose the name to honor previous Pope Leos who had been vocal about social concerns.
